Beautiful Flower Card

Stamps, Card Design & Tutorial
© Vicki Morrison 2000 - 2008

What You Will Need:
The tools you will need.

1 piece coloured card 6" x 12"
(to match your chalk ink colour)
1 cream coloured cardstock 12" x 12"
Cutting Mat
Steel Ruler
Craft Knife
Bone Scorer

Colorbox Chalk inkpad, colour of your choice
Sponge
Double sided sticky tape
Double sided foam tape
Post-It Notes
Decorative Edge Scissors
Sharp Scissors
Paper Tole Shaping Mat
Paper Tole Shaping Tool
PVA Glue
Victoria's Secret Rubber Stamps
VG206 Lily Head
VK189 Ornate Petal Form Large
VM187 Ornate Multi Frame

Let's Begin:

Choose your chalk pad.

Using a 6" x 12" piece of card, score and fold in half, then stamp VG206 Lily Head all around the edges of the card front, overlapping the edge.
Reink the stamp every time you use it.

Cut 13cm x 13cm squared from corner of cream cardstock.

Stamp Lily Head all around the edge of this piece, overlapping edges

Rub sponge onto chalk ink pad to pick up ink, then sponge colour onto the card, over the stamped design.
HINT: Use a rubbing motion rather than a dabbing motion to create a smooth colour.

Apply double sided sticky tape to the back of this square.

Take VM187 Ornate Multi Frame and stamp on another corner of your cream cardstock with the same chalk ink pad.
HINT: You may need to put your cardstock on the floor with the stamp on top, than stand on the rubber stamp for a clear impression.

Stick post-it notes around all four edges of the multi-frame image.

Ink up sponge and sponge colour from the outside towards the centre of the image.

Remove Post-it notes.

Move Post-It notes into the next square on the multi frame and sponge as before.

Move the Post-It notes to the middle square and repeat sponging.

Use decorative paper edgers and cut out frame, leaving a very small border.

Apply foam tape to back of this piece.

Using the rest of your cream cardstock, stamp VK189 Ornate Petal Form Large three times using the same chalk ink.

Ink up sponge again and apply ink to the centre of the design.

Then sponge the tips of the petals.

Cut out Petal Forms.

Use a Tombow marker to match the chalk ink colour and run it around the edges of the Petal Forms, this takes away the white edge.

Place Petal Form upside down on Paper Tole Shaping Mat. Rub each petal firmly to shape petals, Do not hold the flower shape, let it roll around as you shape it. The flower should curl up.

Turn flower over and rub the centre firmly, petals should spread.

Repeat for all three petal forms.

ASSEMBLY

Remove tape backing and stick large square to card front.

Remove backing from foam tape and stick multi frame on top of square piece.

Apply a dob of PVA Glue to the base of the first petal form and stick it to the centre of the multi frame.

Stick the other two petal forms on top of the first, rotating each one slightly to create a fuller flower shape.

Use a blob of glue in the centre of the finished flower and add beads to match flower colour.
